Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport that challenges mind and body, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The aim is to navigate between controls (checkpoints) marked on an orienteering map. As there is no set route, the fun and skill come from trying to work out the best route to take. In competitive orienteering, the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time, but it is up to you what speed you go at, and whether you run individually or walk as a family group.
